Having made my earlier comment,I am wondering why we do not record those academic achievments in a separate web page for younger generation to follow and be inspired.For example I don't know how many present day Royalists are aware of the fact that twin brothers became island 1st in Bio and Maths streams respectively in 1994.
Congrats to everyone who did well in the ALs.However I am not satisifed with the performance overall.Royal Academic results these days have dropped significantly from the level it was in 90's.Those days we invariably produced 3,4 top 10 achievers in both Bio and Maths streams.I remember in 1992 we had island 1,2,3,5,6 in the Bio stream and similar good results in Maths.Some of those people are consultants now.Who can forget Missaka in 1995 who scored 392/400 aggregate marks in the A/Ls.This is the highest marks achieved by a student in AL histoy in Sri Lanka.This is even higher than what Prof.Apasinghe and Prof.Nandadasa Kodagoda achieved in their A/Ls.We were never very good in Commerce and Arts streams.
The Royal vs. St. Anthony's match was drawn, with Royal gaining a 1st innings win. Banuka scored 50's in both innings while both Kithruwan and Bogoda scored 50's too. Overall a very satisfying start to the 1st term matches. This weekend is a very important match against Nalanda at Reid Avenue. Hope Royalist past and present try and make their way to cheer our boys!!!! To the 1st XI cricketers - All the best boys!!! Go for it!!! And with regard to the comment made by Edirisooriya - I totally agree with that. Why should Royalist come down to that standard. Floreat!!!

as we all know kaveesha weerasinhe became the All Island 1st in Bio stream in AL exams 2008..... thats a great victory for kaveesha and a glory for Royal college.... but why admin hasn't added that great victroy on front page "Principal's Desk"........i wish it was there...and he is a prefect too..
Guys, I am an old Royalist domiciled in the UK. I follow this site quite regularly to get to know happenings at great old school. I have seen the negative comments by some unfortunate individuals, and I would like to request all my young brothers of Royal to 'NOT TO RESPOND'. I know young blood boils faster, and mine is not so much young as yours. But we must protect the good name of our college by our actions, responding to such nonsense does not bring the best out of us. Lets focus on positive things, like celebrating success of educational achievements and sports achievements. BTW, Congrats Kaveen ....Yet another year you have proved Royal is the best! and I liked your comment, we can never repay enough for what Royal has given us. Keep the flag flying guys, Floreat...
